It takes a village to do the work we do! We rely on help from volunteers to assist us with things like fundraising, transportation, administrative tasks, and promotion. This is a volunteer-run rescue.
If you consider yourself a compassionate, dedicated person, and are interested in volunteering, please complete the application available here
Usually a dog needs a foster home for a short stay during their transition from the shelter in another country to their new forever home in Canada. All expenses are covered, so there is no cost to you. Without fosters we can't help dogs, so we need you!
If you can provide a temporary home for one of our rescues, we would love to hear from you. Please complete our foster application available here.
You can also donate unwanted items (in ‘good or better’ condition only please) for our annual fundraiser yard sale. Or you can hold a sale/event of your own and donate the funds to PAWs! Please email us for more info.
You can play an important part in saving lives! We are always looking for flight escorts to help us transport dogs to Canada from other countries. There is no cost to you. All arrangements are made, all paperwork is done, all fees are taken care of. Rescuers will meet you at both ends to take care of everything.
If you are planning to fly and would like to be a flight buddy, please let us know. We may work with rescues in that country. Some of the countries we work with include Greece, Portugal, Mexico, Egypt, Bahrain, Iran, Egypt, South Korea, USA.
As you can imagine, rescue is a cost-intensive venture, as dogs often need more assistance than the adoption fee will cover. We also seek to help injured or dogs with special needs that might need, for example, expensive surgery, rehabilitation therapy or specialized training. We rely on donations to make it possible for us to assist. To donate please send an etransfer to firstname.lastname@example.org or donate via https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/paws-across-the-water-inc/ and receive a tax receipt for donations over $20. Any amount makes a difference, and opens up possibilities for a dog we might not otherwise be able to take in.
Your donation makes the world of difference.
